One thing I was going to mention is the Controls of that era.
OSP 5020 and later had a control Machine lock.
if the bulb behind this button is out you will never know you are locked, as the control is working right and no alarm will show up.
If I remember right you had to push the Inter lock soft key hold it and then push machine lock. and repeat to unlock machine.
Then you were able to run the program to prove code without ANY axis moving.
The later controls have this feature too. Both Mills and Lathes.
