If you want the RIGHT side of the part to be rotated to the TOP, it would have to be rotated, as you would look at it from the FRONT. ( OK so far ? )
To be able to rotate "around the Y axis", the C-plane (construction) must first be set to the FRONT plane Method
- turn all levels on
- select C-plane=FRONT
- select all entities
- Xform-rotate and accept ( big green dot )
- popup dialogue appears ( input angle of +90 degrees ), the multi-direction arrow is for selecting the rotation point if different from the origin.
- accept
Gview TOP
The RH side of the part is now at the TOP
---don't forget to put C-plane back to top---
now Xform-translate to correct position
Aid assistant- try turning on, an inactive grid to be always visible to show C-plane and construction Z level
- alt-G ( grid dialog display )
- active grid=off
- visable grid=on
- spacing X.25 Y.25
- color 8
- size=1.5" |
Thanks So much for your help I'll have to do this tomorrow. Your a life saver
