What tooling should you buy? That is the same as asking how long is the piece of string!
Talk to your friend the tool saleman, I am certain that he would be only too happy to sell you some tools.
The choice of tooling is so connected to the work you intend doing on the lathe that to answer this question is impossible...
Look for a range of standard turning and boring tools to start with, then work up from there.
