[QUOTE=joesow;570231]Hi Jim,
My 12 x 24 x 4 CNC router arrived a little over a week ago and I have swamped my brain with many questions. When I ask for assistance from my supplier, I get answers but not much I understand. Those that understand CNC Machining and DeskCNC software have a hard time taling down to us that know very little about how to start. I have had a hard time giving the machine the right instructions such as hnow to home to the lower left corner of the table, why I have servo faults when I go faster than 30 IPM. I've heard a so many quesses why I am having servo faults. I suspect my lack of understanding the Controller software is most of the problem. The instructions are not easy for a newbie as much is acronyms that I don't know what they mean. They need to have a "Controller Instructions for Dummies".
I have been a journeyman machinist, and much more for 50+ years and have a vast knowledge of machinery (which sold and installed - none CNC) but I am not brain dead but feel that once the sale was made, they really wish I'd qjit bothering them . I'm sre they are swamped with questions from guys like me but so what...guys like me are their customers and would hope they would learn to talk easy speak to us new comers.
I als would like to connect with somebody who can help new comers like us in the St. Louis area. Have car will travel to any mentor ion the area. Perhaps we could collaborate and gain experience in tandem. If and mentor or member could help, drop me a email note and we can gp from there.
Thanks to any help
