I just got a HF 7x10 minilathe, and wondering if there is a way to raise the level at which the dang thing "kicks off"?
Especially, for coarse threading, tho' it even stalls pretty easy while turning in auto feed too. I can't believe the small amount of pressure on the wheel, that can stall this out.
I think I have the major tuning done, but any other info on problem areas would be welcomed.
My background: I ran Acme-Gridley screw machines, Davenports, Warner-Swasey hand screws, and Mazak CNC's for many years, before experiencing a plant closure 5 years ago. I rarely "need" a lathe, but I miss all the flying metal chips!
