This is basically a delay that the software uses to delay steps to the drive after switching direction. Some drives need a certain amount of time delay after direction changes to move properly. I just ran into this problem tonight. I have a driver that i built based on the allegro sla7026 chip driven by the 5804 that needs a 3uS delay. Before I adjusted it, the z was missing steps, now it runs perfectly.
