A friend of mine just purchased a 5 axis. 120" x travel, 30" Y and roughly 28degrees in A and B.
We have one exactly like it at work. The control is out dated and difficult to use. And I know he paid a nice shiney penny for it. He wouldn't say exactly, but from the way he talked, it was over $25k. 5-axis machines, even used, are hard to come by. Unless you have deep pockets.
Now compare that to the two 3 axis machines he has bought for under $2k (both in working order)..... |
