Greg's point about 3D printing a master to have wax models made for metal casting is a good one. Actually, Z-Corp has material that can 3D print a direct cast mold. (

They also make a material that can be 3D printed out and then dipped in wax to use as a pattern in lost wax metal casting. I don't have any direct experience with these, but would love to try it out if the right project presents itself.
