It sounds like you altered the wrenches to hang down inside if you left them on the vise.
An alternate method is to make an extended handle that prevents the door on the machine closing; that way you cannot start it which the handle on the vise. Unless you are foolish enough to turn Setting 51 ON
and forget the handle.
