At work the other night, I wrote down the specs of the X axis servo motor on the machine I run. Rack and pinion on both X axis ways.
Stall Cont - 40RMS amps 44.8 Nm
Stall Peak - 148.6RMS amps 126.1Nm
Volts - 230 Rated RMS
Max Speed - 3050RPM
This was all that was on the spec plate on the motor. The machine is capable of 200ipm in X and Y and 60ipm in Z. The motor is connected to a gear box, but I have no idea of the ratio.
Nm is a torque rating right?
Here's a bad picture of the machine
http://www.premac.com/images/532.jpg . We were cutting the parts pictured.
3 spindle/5 axis 60hp spindles @ 30" centers
Table 120" wide by 1,440" long.
X Axis = 1,332" travel.
Y Axis = 68" travel.
Z Axis = 28" travel.
Z Axis = 33" clearance
A & B = +/-25.0 degrees of travel
Standing under the machine when B is tilted over 25degrees really makes you appreciative of the safeguards taken to ensure it won't over travel and fall.
