I see two problems with the wiring diagram.
1) The encoder from the motor (V+, Gnd, A, B) need to connect back to the G340, not the G100. The encoder inputs on the G100 do no work with servo motors like you are trying to do. The hardware is there, but the software/firmware was never finished for it.
2) If I am not mistaken, By default, the G340 wants the COMMON be connected to the GND on the G100, not +5V like it is shown in the diagram. I also think the G340 has a selection switch to internally swap the COMMON to be either +5v or Gnd.
So, the PC (via Mach) talkes to the G100 via network.
The G100 talks to the G340 via the STEP, DIR, and COMMON lines.
The G340 talks to the motor and the motor encoder talks back to the G340.
