For making water blocks that MSC mill will be fine. Look at the travels you get. The only drawback is if you were milling lets say a large workpiece and you had to flip it around . Which you would then need to raise or lower the head which then in turn means you have to re-zero the part back in. But for water blocks which are small work pieces you wouldn't need to raise or lower the head. The spindle has a fine feed on it which will be fine for what your doin. I have the Sherline mill and I have used it to cut steel and if I wanted to make water blocks(which is the original reason I wanted to get into machining and cnc) I could use the Sherline for that too. But bigger is better unless space is a factor. I'd go for the MSC. |
