wow! I missed this one...
I actually used the jpg import feature and turned a photo(after making a grayscale copy) into a relief carving similar to a coin surface. The toolpath in Mach2 showed a real nice depiction but I stopped short of milling/routing it out so as to setup a vacumm system to collect the sawdust. That's still pending as I have since switched to getting coolant up and running. But that is on hold as I am doing other activities that keep me just spraying the cutting with canned coolant. will get to it as winter sets in.
I guess I'm saving the digitization feature for a router I'm collecting parts for as that will be mainly for wood. 'am ready to start the frame soon. |
