Journeyman.
Thanks...
A client of ours is having trouble with threading. The threads start fine and then the pitch seems to change further along the thread. Not sure if Mach3 is reading the Spindle Speed correctly?..
Are there any special settings in Mach3 for the spindle. What are your spindle settings.
cheers

I have cut many thds. on the C6 use the wizard in Mach3 Turn and enter the numbers. if you are using inserts(prefered)or a HSS tool make sure every thing is indicated straight. I prefer to "0" Z at the face of the Part and stay .015 away from sholders. Toutch X on the part O.D. enter dia in DRO on Manual Screen>3/8-16 .375 Major dia. "0" part DRO. Zero Z too!
Your Start X dia is .375
Your End X dia is .293
The rest is whatever your Part length is ect.
The Turn wizzard will do the rest.
I have always used 3wire method to measure the thds. and it has always been +/- .001-.003. Works good enough for what it is.
The Threads zip file saves much time. with the numbers. Bob |
