Jim, You don't have to have an interface board between the Gecko and the PC. It just makes it easier. You can take a 25 pin cable that plugs into your PC's printer port and cut off the other end to expose the 25 wires. Using your controller software to determin your pin usage (Most use in order of step, direction and X,Y,Z would be pin 2,3 for X 4,5 for Y 6,7 for Z) find the wire number 2,3 and hook to the step, direction on the first Gecko and so on. You see that this is not a clean way of doing it but it would work.
