Hi all,
Pleasure to meet y'all! I'm trying to build a CNC machine based on the
great instructions from Stuart MacFarlan @ Instructables. I'm proceeding along nicely but I'm stuck at one particular point now.
I attempted to ordere parts from McMaster-Carr for my CNC project and appeared to be able to do so fine - the web page took my credit card, sent me a confirmation email, yadda yadda yadda. However, about two hours later, I received what was essentially a PFO letter from McMaster-Carr stating that due to "increasingly stringent export legislation" that they were canceling my order. This frustrated me, of course, but what's worse is I have no idea where to find a different vendor.
The parts of interest are listed below but I don't have enough experience to figure out what alternate names are, or what these are actually called, so that I can search somewhere else. If anyone in Canada (Calgary, perhaps?) has a suggested industrial supplier, or a US one that exports, please, PLEASE let me know.
- Binding Screws for Wood Plain Steel Dowel Nut, 1/4"-20 X 12mm Length, Packs of 50
- Steel Ball Bearing Plain Open for 1/4" Shaft Dia, 7/8" OD, 1/4" W
- Trapezoidal Tooth Neoprene Rubber Belting .080" Pitch, Mxl Trade Size, 1/4" Width
- Mxl and XL Series Timing-Belt Pulley 1/4" Belt Width, .685" OD, 20 Teeth
For example, any searches on the "rubber belting" give me nothing but automotive timing belts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Donald Wheeler
