The reference manual might be a generic USERS MANUAL.
When you can reference the machine, you will have made some progress.
It needs to know where it's extremeties are.
Gross error means it figures it unsafe to do anything practical.
It either thinks it stupidly huge, or tiny, or upside down.
It's a pity better documentation from machine builders stays in their 'secret' you'll never nedd this again file, (especially when I'm no longer in business)
Talk to a machine builder who knows your hardware if you get stuck for answers.
