Hi Dan,
The shape Fusion is good utility inside David... I have aligned and merged all above 9 scans in shape fusion.. Initially i didn't know about the merging technique for such type of symmetrical object.. But with the help of forum member i was able to merge/stitch difficult scans..

I will see Leios Mesh too.. You are right MeshLab is a crashlab software... It is opensource and guys improving it to crash less...

Dan, do you capture the whole body at one scan? otherwise I can't imagine why too much cams...

Actually I can scan with 4 cams an area about 2m square, mainly because marks I use (circular paper dots), but with a better pattern I think could scan greater areas. In my case I usually must work at outdoor, so I never thinked about projectors to make the pattern. Just now I'm making some tests with IR sources, but still no good results achived...

Ok touchy subject 3d scanners I went to a rapid prototype show a few months ago and there I have seen many of these some could go as far as 2 microns but some are cheap if you are going to get one I would say dont buy until you see it work and I mean in front of you all of them shown their parts but what you dont see is any adjustments they have made to get it that way. I have seen some work great for a budget of over 20,000.00 and I have seen what they shown me of cheaper systems but they did not let you stick a part in front of it for yourself? Wonder why? Just be very carefull this is new you know what that means with products.
