    Default Com Port Configuration

    Hello,
I have just installed a Roland Picza 3-D scanner to my computer. All is ok except for this message:

"Com 1 not ready, Please verify that the port is valid or is not in use by another application.

I am guessing that it is on the same port as my printer and the configuration needs to change, as I've been told that two
pieces of hardware cannot occupy the same port. I know that the configuration is done in Device manager/ports, but that is all that I know. If someone here can give me clue one as to how to go about correcting this issue, I would be most grateful.
    Thank you,
    Calabash

If you use Windows,Go to device manager and find your scanner port from PORTS(COM & LPT).the select your scanner and right click->properties->port setting tab->advanced.. button and select a port that not in use from another process.
