Tumbling gives you a matt type effect of finish, though may still be shiny depending upon what state of finish is achieved prior to tumbling as with time spent in the tumbler.
For heavier tool marks and scratches etc, you will most likely need to (stone/ polish etc) these out prior to tumbling. |
