Hello ksealey, I too have been doing 3D modeling for many years and I do woodworking as well. I can tell you from experience that you will need to leave a small amount of room for 'squeeze-out'. Otherwise the glue in the hole will have no way to escape past the peg and bond the two pieces together, and you will have a very difficult time getting the peg into the hole.
I don't know if I would leave more than one millimeter of clearance, especially if you are doing something that has to be precise. I would do a test run if that is the case just to see. Hope this helps. |
