In those circumstances, I would put any XP system up to the same standard. You can't compare any other windows platform to a dos platform. That is comparing apples to oranges. They were designed and used for different things.
It's interesting that you bring that book up. The information contained in there was pivotal for the development of Windows. Hence Plug and Play and hardware detection through IO device mapping. |
