Ditto on the congrats Don!!! Best of luck with project!! I too am in Alabama, up near Huntsville. Been doing CNC as a hobbie for almost four years now, this is my second CNC project, my first was a highly modified "PipeDream" built with what ever I could find. I crashed it just recently for the last time making parts for Joe's, so am having to build parts by hand now. Slow process for me, no shop here, just a small cabin in the woods. Just something I enjoy doing when time and health permits it. Guess we all love the challenge of it and it does keep our minds thinking. I work around CNC machines everyday at work, do fabrication of sheet metal parts and operate a CNC burn table at work. I love the hobbie but not too keen on doing it for a living, doing 500 parts of the same thing gets real boring fast!! Guess I like doing my own thing with it when I want...LOL Have built my own PCB's by milling them, I'll be using Dave's HobbieCNCPro 3-axis board, Keling 425 oz. steppers, 24volt 10A switching power supply, Mach3 driver, SheetCam for making G-code from my own designs done in DesignCad3D software. Been doing it this way for a couple years now so its all proven equipment and works great for me. I have a thread on here also with pictures of what I've got done so far on Joe's design, I'll be changing it some but basically its still a joe's design. Anyway, welcome to the group.....
Cheers
