in conversational mode, you need to set up your serial port for 8,1,none. any serial transfer utility will work. hurco has a utility call conupdn.exe. this runs in dos and has been bullitproof for years. DOS !! windows nt, 98, 95, not xp!! if you need a copy, feel free to contact me.
sjmeyer@gwi.net. what year, model, control?? max I, max II, max 3 ?? this info will determine a lot about what you can do to get the floppy drive up and running again. the year of the machine can be determined by the serial number. first and last digit tells the year. example---kzl9002053a 1993, b42s90024068bd 1998. look at the version of the executive software on the INPUT screen. if it is a number like 7.24 or 8.51, control is maxII. if it 1.51, 1.52, 1.64, control is one of three types of max3. if it is 2.12, 2.17, 2.21, control is maxIII. all this comes together to identify your machine and what be done to repair your floppy. ron
