A grid shift is parameter 1850, i believe. From what i understand is the grid the machine runs on so to speak. How you do it is simple. You indicated your turret in, then indicate your drill holder to -0- in -x-. With the pocket called up in a g54 or cooresponding work coordinate, you see the absolute value, whatever that value is off from -x0.0- you convert to metric, devide it in half, and add or subtract it from the value in your grid shift. After you shutdown your machine and reboot the control you recall the same tool up and reindicate the pocket to see if you get -x0.0- in your absolute dim.
