as a human being living in a major city, and within 3/4 mile of a coal burning power plant, i still cannot help being glad Al (the obvious fibber) gore is sticking up for environmental concerns. One of the few things to back his cedability is that he put out that book in the, i think, 70s, detailing some of the same issues.
George Bush's total destruction of 'the clean air act' is shocking and shameful. The 'polution market' system that replaced it is directly responsible for this plant i live by being able to emit with no regard for the 10s of thousands of people living within a 1 or 2 mile radius of it..
Sure gore is a bit of a cock-head. But, at least he didnt scrap the clean air act.. I see a big gap between 'Evil' (scrapping clean air act) and good, if self serving (making an emotional plea for better energy policy).
There are lots of ways to use statistics.. Grasping at straws to prove climate change is one thing. Considering the reported 5,000+ low income (mexican) kids in my hood with asthma (like 85% higher than average), to not grasp at straws in favor of reasonable policy is shocking.
