I came from the steel machining indutry 15+ years ago to stone.
We have a Brembana Maxima 5-axis. Never heard of your machine so I have no comment.
The main differences are:
1. Stone chips and breaks. You will have to plan out relief cuts and how to mount the stone.
2. The tooling wears. With the exception of plated diamond tools which just wear the diamond off and do not cut anymore. Sintered diamond tools wear down and still cut so you will have to take this into account when programming.
3. Feeds and speeds are not readilly available for different stones. It is guess and keep an eye on the machine.
We also have a laser scanner on our 5-axis machine (scantech) it's easy to use and alot of fun.
We also have a lathe on our machine. The same thing just plan for chipping.
The only other thing I can think of is the 5-axis programming. If you are new to this its going to take some time. |
