I doubt the belt is inside-out. Have you ever seen the belt that is on that machine? It is very thick and wide and would take some serious work to turn it inside-out. Some how, the control has to know a reference point on the vari-speed drive to allow programmable spindle speed control. Personally, I think there must be a calibration step in the software to set a zero or reference point. There is a small worm-gear that turns the vari-speed drive, and I am guessing there has to be some type of sensor to provide position feedback (perhaps a simple potentiometer?). |
