Your right, but I've gotten in the habit of putting the machine at 0,0,0 at night, and seldom have to home from anywhere else. One time of an idiot trying to push the spindle through a vice while homing the machine taught me that one. Now all the new people think you can't shut the machine down unless its in the home position.
