Why not use Alibre Express?
I use The Pro Version and am very happy with it. Express will be somewhat easy to use, and comes with many tutorials. You can go straight from pencil and paper to 3-D in one easy step. You then also have the ability to print the final 2-D drawings as a .PDF with any PDF Writer and you can do all of this for no cost at all (except the initial learning period, and maybe an Alibre salesman two).
