Excalibur has been around since 1995 and is a very mature product. Most all of the CAM functions are very optimized and offer many options the user can customize.
The Design system in Excalibur was designed as a true Surface/Solid Modeler and was not evolved from something else. Therefore, Excalibur has complete design function including complex modeling fillets and chamfers...even variable fillets.
Also, for those users who like to use their models as presentation tools, Excalibur has a complete RENDERING capability with materials and textures.
