That's the way to do it, all right. We had a similar problem with our Fada's that have thru-spindle-coolant. If someone hit the
COOLANT 2 button when a tool without that feature is in the spindle, the seals would blow out. Shutting the machine down to replace the seals was a real PITA. So, we popped the buttons off and haven't had a problem since.
