Description:

1990 Bridgeport Series 2 Interact 4 with fresh centroid retrofit. I purchased this machine from a fortune 500 company and then had the retrofit done. Its a really nice machine and runs well. The only reason why i am selling this is i just purchased a bigger machining center and simply do not have the room for both. The interact 4 is the king of all knee mills. Its a rigid box way design with a 40 taper spindle. Its capable of taking deep cuts in steel. Its a night and day difference from a series 1. Machine weighs 6000lbs and will fit under a 8' garage door. This machine runs on single phase 220!!!!!!!! No need for a expensive, noisy, power sucking phase converter!

Control specs

-Centroid/Ajax M-400 control with 4th axis add on drive -45 in lb servo motors -Flood coolant -Bijur spray mist coolant system -Spindle was retrofited to an AC system (10HP motor with vector drive) -You have the choice of using either CAT40 or BT40 tools (only difference is the style of retention knob you use) -USB flash drive program transfer -solid state hard drive

I had the retrofit done in the fall of 2007 for a cost of $13,000 and i have only put aprox 100 hours on the machine since then. I had the servos rebuilt for the retrofit. The spindle motor and drive is also new. The company that i bought the machine from replaced the spindle bearings about a year before i purchased it.

The M400 centroid/Ajax control is just awesome! Its Linux based and rock solid. It has never locked up on me once since i have had it.

Rotary table, vice and tooling not included. You will have the option of buying the servo out of the rotary table for $650 (brand new 29 in lb servo)so you can install it in your rotary table.
