Description:

Modified "Cheap CNC" router. has 1/2" 10 tpi (2 start) acme thread lead screws on all axiis. 200 oz/in steppers. Complete with computer (DOS 6.22) with TurboCNC, 30 volt power supply, Xylotex 3 axis controller, Porter Cable trim router, 200 oz in steppers, enclosure, table with three drawers (drawers added after photo was taken). Computer has two each 3.5" floppy drives, CDRom, two each 2 gig hard drives, 9" Monitor. Pickup only, will NOT ship. Located in Satellite Beach, Florida, 32937. Phone 321-848-2114. I was wondering will the program accept CAD or .dwg files, and what can it cut balsa fine enough for modeling?

Thanks for your interest. By the program, I assume you mean TurboCNC. TurboCNC is the program that runs the machine only (reads the G-Code and tells the machine where to move). It does not read any CAD or .dwg files. The G-Code must be generated in some other program such as TurboCad, Rhino, ArtCam, VCarve Pro, Cut3D etc. The machine would be very good at cutting balsa for models. I have not cut models with it but have cut some very small detailed parts from wood and plastic. It would be an excellent machine for that purpose. I have also cut aluminum and brass with it by using light cuts and slow feed rates. I also have an extra computer and monitor which I will include with the sale.
